Here is our first official, student-created mathcast from 2007. It is the early version,which is not edited too much. It is a bit longer than most of our math videos.

However, 6th grader “Bob” (not her real name) created this on the spot, with no script and no rehearsal. It was also her FIRST time ever using Camtasia Studio. Camtasia Studio is the screen recording software we use. I thought we should release this as an episode.

I need to take a survey soon and find which file type is preferred by you. Here is one specifically for the iPhone and iPod. Let me know if this version is better, or not necessary since the other mp4 files can easily be converted in iTunes. Thanks.

I just got a new 3D webcam called, “Minoru 3D Webcam“. I decided to make my first 3D video a mathcast of course. It’s silly and really just a demo to see how the 3D effects look.

Welcome to the Mathtrain.com with Mr. Marcos podcast. This is episode 6. In this show, "Bob" grabs an iPod, hooks up a microphone to it and goes out interviewing people about mathtrain.com. "Bob" is one of my middle school students and a complete natural, as you will hear. "Bob" speaks to a parent as they both walk down the sidewalk. This is the first time anyone here used the microphone-enabled iPod. Bob had no headphones, no training on how to use the iPod and no script. The complete interview is spur of the moment. This is only the beginning for our future use of the recordable-iPod. The ease of use and the mobility of the iPod has opened-up new and exciting possibilities for us.

Welcome to the Mathtrain.com with Mr. Marcos podcast.

We changed the name to Mathtrain.TV with Mr. Marcos.

This is a repeat of Episode 0, our first podcast. In this show, we briefly introduce you to what the focus of this podcast will be – - namely, student-created mathcasts (video math lessons). For the most part, Mr. Marcos’ middle school students will be leading the mathcasts via a Tablet PC and Camtasia Studio.

We like the “kids teaching kids” model. The students are from Lincoln Middle School, in Santa Monica, CA.
